Do I need to be fit to start kickboxing?
No. The Wednesday class is open to complete beginners and you work at your own pace. Conditioning is part of the class rather than something you need before joining it.
Adults · Wednesdays at 7pm
Pad work, conditioning and striking technique that actually holds up, taught by certified coaches on the same mats since 2003. Walk in a beginner.
No experience needed. Beginner classes every week.

What it is
An hour of real striking work: warm-up and conditioning, technique on the pads, combinations, and drilling with a partner. No music-class choreography, and nobody is thrown into sparring on their first evening.
You will learn punches — jab, cross, hooks, uppercuts — along with kicks, knees, clinch work and head movement. The coaching draws on Muay Thai and boxing technique, and the emphasis is on doing a small number of things properly rather than collecting moves.
All three Galvan brothers are certified to teach kickboxing and MMA. Master Meme Galvan is the head kickboxing coach.
It is worth being straight about this. Galvan’s Martial Arts teaches kickboxing and MMA striking, not boxing as a standalone sport. You will spend real time on hands — and on the head movement and footwork that make hands work — but you will also be kicking, and there is no separate boxing-only class.
Kickboxing runs Wednesdays at 7pm. That suits a lot of people who want one hard session a week. If you want more mat time, the usual route is to add MMA on Tuesday and Thursday, which covers the same striking alongside grappling — most students who start with kickboxing end up doing both.

Class times
One class a week, Wednesday evenings. MMA on Tuesday and Thursday covers the same striking if you want more.

Galvan’s Martial Arts teaches kickboxing and MMA striking rather than boxing as a standalone sport. You will learn punching — jab, cross, hooks, uppercuts and head movement — alongside kicks, knees and clinch work. If you want purely hands-only boxing, this is not that class.
The striking taught here draws on Muay Thai — kicks, knees, elbows, clinch and pad work — combined with boxing technique. It is run as a kickboxing class rather than a traditional Muay Thai program.
